Oh, the contest

Remember this?

Right, we had a contest running and then the dr told me I needed to lose a couple ounces so the contest is now being announced.

So, here's how I did it - I numbered the comments 1-4 and then the followers in the order they showed up on my screen 5-15 (I took out me and Misty, that would be a little "odd" if one of us won).

Just to be fair, I took a picture of the # chosen by Random.org and also a picture of my list - with the * next to the winner's name.

Post surgery

I do have a good excuse for not updating - last Thursday I got my gall bladder taken out.

It's also my excuse for not getting all the pics, I was pretty out of it for a few days and the 2 days before I worked until 7pm to get everything ready.

Thurs, Feb 3 - Valentines from around the world

I stole this idea from Jenna's teacher last year and my kids love it this year. We ask everyone we know to send Valentines to our class and we graph and map where they came from.

Fri, Feb 4 - Art

On Fridays, if we get everything done (mostly tests), we get to do a fun art activity. They are currently drying, but if this is any clue, they had fun getting their hands in paint.

Days 20-23

Day 20 - yet another dr's office

After 5 1/2 months of being sick, I finally got a dr to do something about how cruddy I've been feeling.

Day 21 - my mess

Sure, I keep my teaching space nice and clean, but man, as you can see my desk is a mess.

Day 22 - Jenna's final dolphin

They compromised. Jason wanted to poke a hole through the dolphin, Jenna didn't. Jenna won and they made a wave for the dolphin to be on.

Day 23 - tooth #?

I don't know what tooth # this is for her, but this one she pulled herself. Hopefully the tooth fairy doesn't forget to come.

Jan 17

Jenna has an animal project due next week. Jason is the artist in the family, so it's his job to do any homework that is art related. Day 1 of creating her display. We love Model Magic!

Jan 8 (Sat) - Do you Roku?

This is what Jason got me for Christmas. I had never heard of it, but now I'm in love. It hooks up to the TV so I can get Netflix streaming.

I had a picture, but it's on my phone and it isn't playing with my computer right now

Jan 10 (Monday)

Jenna was sick and was having a hard time breathing, so we took a nap while watching the original Rainbow Brite movie. Later I got to watch one of my secret pleasures, the Bachelor. I will say Michelle from Utah is crazy.

Jan 11 (Tues)

Back to work and got some goodies from my favorite website www.DonorsChoose.org/francis-ocean. This site lets you donate to classrooms towards things teachers want a need.

Jan 12 (Weds)

No pic for today because I'm hoping ABC4 will get the video up so you can see all about my day.

Jan 13 (Thurs)

Lots of great plans to make Jason a nice meal were thwarted by lots and lots of pain. He brought me home Starbucks - he's that great! I don't think I was meant to live in cold weather, so today I was dreaming of the warm weather of Summer as I snugged up in my Snuggie and Starbucks.

Was going to do dishes....didn't, but I need to

Jan 15 (Sat)

Jenna wanted to give me a back scrub in the bath - I love that she's still little and loves to spend time with me. She scrubbed and scrubbed until my back was red. That's when she said it was clean enough.

Jan 16 (Sunday)

time to take down the tree. Hopefully tomorrow all our chores will be done.

Oh and I know some of my photos are sideways, I'm having problems (me my ability to do my computer right). Tomorrow we have no school and Tuesday I'll be presenting to 90 1st grade teachers in my district about Donors Choose. It should be fun and I hope the teachers start writing their grants to get great stuff.

Day 7 and 8

Jan 7 - Jenna's Reflections entry is going on to district!

Jenna takes after her daddy and is a great photographer. She took a series of photos of Barbies helping each other. This was regionals and now she's going on to district!

She's our miracle niece and we thank Heavenly Father for keeping her in our lives.

I was so tired last night I just went to bed. Felt good to sleep - so good I slept in.

When we have an inversion, our sunsets are beautiful. Too bad it's bad for your lungs.

Day 4

Today, I decided to pay homage to the guy I cuddle with every night when I get home from work. He follows me everywhere and scratches at my side of the bed if he jumps down because he can't get back up on his own.

Jan 4 - Shaggy

He's a shih-tzu/yorkie mix and we drove all the way to Orem (1 1/2 hours) to adopt him. I swear he has a hilarious personality. If he could talk, I'm pretty sure he'd be a sarcastic little dog.

Jan 3 - my class

I'm a 2nd grade teacher and today was our first day back to school from Winter Break (note politically correct Christmas Break). I was worried my class would be crazy, but they were so good. Here are our spelling words and also our daily fact family. Oh, and my beautiful easel and chart were donated through grants because I am the grant queen!

OK, so I'm starting off by cheating. Technically, back on the East Coast, this would be the 1st, so I'm going with that :)
